Edinburgh Treasure HuntEdinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and the second most visited tourist destination in the UK after London. The Old and New Town districts were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995. The city is steeped in Roman history and the south of the city is dominated by Edinburgh Castle, perched atop an extinct volcanic crag. The Old Town is laid out on a medieval plan but features many reformation era buildings. Ideal areas for a treasure hunt include The Royal Mile, Princes and Queen Streets and Charlotte Square, designed by Robert Adam and considered one of the finest Georgian Squares in the world. Edinburgh Interesting FactsNotable people associated with the city include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, former Prime Minister Tony Blair and J.K Rowling, the coffee shop in which she wrote the first Harry Potter book being an essential treasure hunt spot. Edinburgh is one of our favourite locations for a treasure hunt because there is so much to do in such a compact area. You can explore so much of this wonderful city on foot in a half day.
